Well, 1st thing is close the door of the room that your hamster was in. If it was in that room or still is, then he/she will stay in that room and eventually show up.

2nd step; Set up treats that your hamster likes around the room. But be sure you know where every treat is. Be sure that you check on the treats daily to make sure they are there. (If one day you show up and one of the treats are gone, you know that your furry pet has been around.)

3rd step; Watch over any other pets to make sure that they haven’t found your hamster.

4th step; Look in every spot of the room to check for your hamster.

5th step; Wait and have patience. Be sure to check every spot of your house/room daily for your little furry friend!!!!!!

    Good Luck!

you shud put some really tempting treats that it likes, in the room that it got lost in. its bound to become really hungry after awhile, and it needs to eat something, so it might come out to eat the treat.

Hamsters have very sensitive noses, and can smell food a mile away(pardon the cliche). So the longer its out on its own, the hungrier it gets, so it’s willing to make more risks for food. Try putting some food, bedding, and a treat in a deep bucket with a water bottle taped to the side. There can be a wooden ladder, or some kind of ramp leading up to it, and make a slide going down into the bucket. Dwarf hamsters are very careful animals, and don’t normally step off into the air, even for food, so make a steep, slippery slide, that way it will be more likely to slide down the slid, and since dwarf hasmters are also generally bad climbers it will be unable to get out.

You got some good ideas already. Have you thought of using a humane trap? Typically they are for mice, but dwarfs are small, so he should fit easily in one. The kind we have are more than adequate for a hamster to enter. Just put some food in there; people often use peanut butter.

Do not forget to close the door after you thoroughly check a room. If the gap is wide underneath, plug it with a towel so your little one cannot go in after you already searched there.

The way I often catch my mice when they go exploring is to turn a storage bin sideways. I put the food and water down towards the back. Eventually they go in there, and I make sure I am nearby when they do. They are kept in the family room, so I camp out on the couch. I am awake anyway, as I cannot sleep knowing they are gone. Once they go into the bin for food, I just flip it up quickly. It does not hurt them, but the water dish does turn over and make a mess.

Other than those ideas and the ones people previously gave, keep looking and do not give up hope. I think you have a better chance of finding him than not.

take small blocks and make a staircase leading to the top of a large bucket. Rub carrot on the bloccks and he will climb the steps thinking they lead to carrot (put some carrot peices in the bucket) he will topple into the bucket and be trapped. he is probably in ur walls he must of found a way into the walls through a small opening that every house has…good luck!
