Is there such a thing as a stair gate with pet access?

I’ve been searching for a stair gate that has a pet access/door flap for our cats. We’re getting ready to move our son to a toddler bed, which, I’m sure, will mean some night roaming.
We’ll put a stair gate at the top of the stairs BUT the issue is the cats’ litter box is also upstairs. There’s no way they could jump over the top of the stair gate to get to their litter box, and keeping the cats upstairs won’t work because their food is downstairs.
So, I’ve been searching for a stair gate with a pet flap and I’ve had no luck. Maybe I’m putting the wrong search terms in Google or something or maybe it just doesn’t exist.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Here is one that might work: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=13044
It would depend on how you can mount the gate. You could just gate his room door so he cannot exit his room. Or mount the stair gate a few inches higher so the cats can crawl under it.
Our stairs have rails and gates don’t work. We have used just a large piece of foam board that is enough of a barrier that our kids didn’t even try the steps. You could use that and cut a small hole in the bottom.
My cat used to jump over the top of ours, no problem. Otherwise, have you considered maybe putting the baby gate on your son’s bedroom door rather than at the top of the stairs.
You will be surprised at how easily a cat can jump over things. Even old cats that just lay around all day.
I did have a gate that was on hinges so I didn’t have to jump over it. Moms don’t jump as well as cats!
I have had cats all my life. I have had geriatric cats in their late teens… if the cat can see and the cat has legs, it can jump a gate on stairs.
Could you place a 2nd litterbox on the other floor so the cats can have a choice?
Putting the gate across your child’s door is a solution for now, but when your child is older and potty training your child will need access to the bathroom, but will still need protection so they don’t accidentally fall down the stairs while half asleep.
