Good pet gates for wide openings?

I’m looking for a sturdy, high quality (e.g., not wobbly and preferably metal rather than wood, as I don’t want it to be chewed on) pet gate to separate my kitchen from my living room. My difficulty is that the opening for that space is about 70". I also need a gate that either has a latched door or that easily swings out of the way when not in use. Any recommendations? Thanks!

extension gates. They can be found in the childrens sections at stores like walmart or k mart. They are great. Also check places like second hand childrens stores. I know the chewing thing. My dog ate probably 4 wood ones before we found a good plastic ones. If you get a thick plastic one it might work. But yeah their are longer gates/fences out there. Check petsmart or other bigger pet stores like that. I know the one I had at one point extended to 92 inches and was 48 inches high but they get pricey with the size here’s one on the cheaper side thats pretty good

Try by putting chicken wire on the fence, and then using zip ties to keeping it down.

Hmm… that’s really, really wide. Check http://www.drsfostersmith.com They have quite a good selection. If anyone has one to fit that, they would. The wider the gap, though, the weaker the gate’s going to end up being so unless this is for a very small dog you might not be able to gate off such a wide gap.
