Whether you consider it’s hard to train this dog or not, it really depends.
Ironically, this dog is considered one of the most easy dog to train in Japan,’cause of their ability to house break themselves w/o ever teaching them much. You show them only a couple times where to do it, they’ll quickly learn. That’s a big help for the first time dog owner. And they are not excessive barkers so it really depends how you look at thing.

Shiba inus are only second to the Korean Jindo Korean dogs. Jindos are smarter, more loyal, and are, well, much stronger than Shibas. The truth hurts.

    In Jindo and Shiba
    There are no relations.
Of course Akita is the same, too.

    Some time ago, Koreans maintained
the Akita Dogs’ ancestors were The Jindo dogs
and that The Japanese imported dogs from Korea.
However, in these years, they have maintained
that it is not the Akita Dogs but the Shiba dogs.
This is because the Akita Dogs don’t look like
The Jindo dogs completely. As you know,
their opinions aren’t logical, and their opinions
    are just their illusions.
Please don’t be deceived by Koreans.

Our shibapup is really lovely, and behaves good though we are first time dog owners… But he has champion parents who also behaves really good. Though are this dog not for people with a lack of patience, cuz the need time to train.

@171989rachel My Shiba was around $1200 canadian dollars, depending on champion lines etc. and if you want the purebred papers. I have seen some for $600 though

The video is pretty much right on. Love my Shiba. He’s independent but has the best personality & temperament of any dog I owned. He loves my kids and they play together all the time. Not one mean bone in his body. Aloof toward strangers but a great family dog.

Last year my 17,5 old Shiba (Kokoro) died. She lives on in my heart and in my thoughts. She taught me so much. I always thought my soulmate was going to be a man, but it turned out to be a Shiba Inu.
