This item was filled under [ Pet Gate ]

Okay I have a pet parrot for about a year now. A couple of months ago we had this ant problem i mean ants were all over his cage so my grandmother just got p*ssed and put some ants powder around his cage…even tho we told her not to. Long story short my bird stopped talking n got really quiet and i mean he is only quiet when he’s sleeping when we realised he was knocking on the pearly gates we put him by the grill to get fresh air and cleaned up the ants powder and he eventually started talking n swinging and all the fun stuff that birds do and he was drinking alot of water i guess to flush his system and we gave him pepper and stuff and he eventually returned to his old self…. kinda. Now I’m noticing that his poop is really watery it has a solid green spot but its surrounded by a pool of water and he’s been spitting up alot of clear liquid i haven’t noticed anything solid in it but i’m really worried y is his poop so watery n y is he vomiting. Plz help me
the powder wasnt exactly on his cage but it was on the wall by the cage so ….yea

Any vomiting or diarrhea at all should be immediately taken to your nearest avian vet for treatment, most especially if your grandmother put ant powder on his cage. How long ago was the powder placed there? Most likely he ate some, and if he did, he would be poisoned. PLEASE take him to your nearest vet.

I will be very blunt. Find the closest AVIAN vet and take your bird there as soon as possible, and I stress soon as possible, tell them the symptoms. At the very least, give the avian vet office a call for advise. Best of luck!

Your bird has been poisoned. The poison is likely still on the cage.

Get him OUT of the cage and find an avian vet to check his poop, etc.
