Feral cat running in fear into doors?

This item was filled under [ Pet Gate ]

I brought home a rabbit and I have been cutting off parts of the house to keep the rabbit in one room and the cats out of the room. my feral has been running into the gates and the doors. to get alway from me. I’ve had him a year and half. he slaims himself full speed into doors and gates in his mad panic.
What can I do to help my cat?
How would I know if he does head trama from one of the slaims? (keep inmind my treatment would be to put him to sleep, becuase its not like I could medicated him or the vet exman him)

please don’t send me the list of taming, I’ve done it all. I’ve caged him, issloated him from the other cat. what works is my cat walking with him, he’ll sleep near me any what not. but if I more at all he runs for cover. He’ll even let me pet him if It’s with one hand, he comes to me, and I don’t move any other part of my body. otherwise its a "run for your lifes"
its not that I can’t afford the vet its that I can’t give him meds. the vet can bearly give him exman I didn’t know I was getting a feral. the ruscue wouldn’t take him back and the shealters would of put him to sleeps and the other resucses would touch him. so if he gets sick or injerd I’m putting him to sleep. imfact no kill feral groups have sugested that to me after the yr mark its clear being a house pet isn’t one of his favort things.

the rabbit is a fenish gaint the minal cage is 8ft by 6ft by 3ft. and rabiits shouldn’t be kept in cages 24/7

If you’ve had the cat inside for 18 months then he really isn’t considered feral any longer. He would be considered extremely under socialized. What I don’t understand is why don’t you just put the rabbit in a large cage? That why you can keep it isolated without having to shut all the doors and stress out the cat. And if you can’t afford to care for these animals why do you have them?

It takes a long time for a "feral" cat to be domesticated. I have a cat that has been running from me for 10 years. She won’t let me pet her in the daytime, but will let me pet her at night. I’ve just grown accustomed it. Cats need to feel safe. They need quiet and do not want to feel trapped. The cat may be stressed out because you’ve blocked off it’s access to the rest of the house because of the rabbit. Cats do not like change. You should get a cage for the rabbit and/or keep it confined to one room of the house so your cat has more space. By the way, you don’t need to euthanize a cat because you can’t medicate it. The vets can help you with this and accomodate your needs
