Never again will i leave my dog at this dog kennel?

This item was filled under [ Pet Gate ]

So, last week i had an emergency and i had to leave, but i could not take my dog with me.
Trust me if i had my way my dog would have gone, but instead i had to leave her at a kennel.

When i came back to get her, all the gates were locked up at the kennel, and i tried calling the kennel many times, but no one picked up, and i was not leaving there until i got my dog.
So finally she makes her way out and unlocks the gate, so i drive in, pay and go in the kennel area to get my dog.
When she opens the gate, my dog is cowering down, and looks so scared, and i called her, and she’s still acting scared.
So i finally pet her and reassure her everything is okay, i was so confused, my dog has never but 1 time acted like this, and that was when we had to spank her (not hard, just a pat on the butt) because she has ripped up my carpet and chewed it up.
So, at this point, i’m pissed and confused, thinking what did this women do to my dog?!?
I had left my dog with a kong, (she’s a labrador so no plush toys, they’d just be destroyed) and i ask the women for it, and apparently she had taken it out of the kennel when i left, and never gave it back to her.
My poor dog must have been bored to death, for this whole time.

Then, as soon as we got onto the grass out of the kennel, my dog pees 5 different times, and poops 3 times, so i’m then wondering was she never let out? (my dog doesn’t like to poop where she stays)
and then i notice my dog has a little diharrea, and is then constipated, and the poor thing stood in the same spot for like 3 min trying to poop.

So, later i was getting ready to give my dog a bath, since she smelled horrible, i started looking her over, and i notice she has ticks all over, and when my dog went, she didn’t have any ticks, and had just been given a bath the same day so she would be clean when i left her.

Wow, was i mad!
I will definitely be taking my dog to the vet asap to make sure she didn’t catch any diseases (she has all her shots anyways, just to make sure)
and to make sure she’s not pregnant (she went into heat 3 weeks ago) and i know i should have her fixed, and i AM going to, but since what has happened recently, its just been so crazy.
so don’t yell at me for that, i know that’s my fault.
but she said she would make sure that all the dogs when out separately, so lets hope so.

anyways, since this was a rant
here is a legit question:
What breeds of dogs to you have?
if you can, post a picture please!
here are mine:

Lilly the rat terrier mix

the two of them together:

Samantha and Lilly

Samantha telling secrets

(If you are wondering why the rat terrier mix wasn’t mentioned in the story, She stayed with my grandparents, But my labrador is too big for them to control sometimes, So just for safety precautions i didn’t want them getting knocked down)
i didn’t hurt my dog, don’t worry it was just to let her know she had done wrong.

I understand you aren’t taking sides with the kennel, i’d sure like to hope this women didn’t hit my dog, and she would be a little sweeter towards them, seeing as though she owns a dog kennel!
thanks!

I would report the conditions of that kennel no dog should have to live in such filth

Me I have two rescued pitbulls who were used in dog fighting but are now pets.

Samantha is beautiful. Spanking a dog is not OK. She was probably scared in a new place without her litter mate – her cowering doesn’t mean she was abused. I’m not sticking up for the kennel, I’m offering other possibilities.

When I have to leave my labs in a kennel – it’s one that I’ve trusted for years and frankly – they go together so they have a bit of home with them. My youngest lab did get sick – but there is no shot for what he had – stress colitis. Labs are habitual dogs – they can get stressed very easy and the seemingly excessive pee and poo is a sign.

Take her to the vet, be glad that she is home and get her back on schedule.

I have two labs: Merlin who is 11.5 years old and Guinness who is 14 months old. I have a Shih-Tzu, Gizmo

You have such beautiful babies, and it breaks my heart to hear that Samantha had such a horrible stay. I hope she fully recovers with no health problems. It is so hard to find good places. I think to many of those places are ran like a strict business with no personal touch. I understand they are businesses but when you one that deals with animals you need to make it more than just business. Labs are just so sweet and really love attention she most likely did not get the TLC she is use to. Poor girl and it is not your fault you did your best to find a good safe place. Becareful with the tick thing my friends dog almost died from Lymes Disease, i hope your girl is perfectly find.
I have a male yellow Lab he is my avatar and my baby. I also have Pit Bull but I inherited him when my brother past away.
