  Just to get a little technical for a minute. One of the many things that makes this song so incredible is the fact that Brian Wilson wrote it in E major, but the chorus moves in and out of C# seamlessly. And it wasn’t the first or last time he’d write key changes into the melody. For some reason, not many other songwriters practiced this, or perhaps they couldn’t pull it off. Brain Wilson was truly special …

  I freaking love the Beach Boys but their stance as their singing makes me chortle. Those poor fellows look so, so awkward and forced . . . I’m not sure too much has actually improved musically since the 60s, but the videos are of a higher quality, usually.

  @peainapodtube I realize that the first chord of the chorus if F#, but the others 2 chords in the chorus are G#m and C#, wouldn’t that put you in the key of C#, with the F# being the 4th and the G#m being the fifth? If I’ve got that wrong, by all means give me a heads up …
