Pet deterant for christmas ornaments?

This item was filled under [ Pet Gate ]

heres the deal, we have a baby gate system up thats in the past worked great for keeping the little demon furballs from the tree and its ornaments. What works or kinda works for you in keeping those little furry paws off the tree. I just caught my Torti calico batting at a Vikings Football ornament that belongs to my husband lil menace grrrrrrr..lol. Oh and not to mention her little partner in crime chewing on the wires for the christmas lights. And I just loooooove that little angelic mew they give when you catch them like" what mommie/daddie… remember Im cute so dont get mad" I swear its like haveing four footed kids besides the 2 legged ones we brought in to the world..lol
Hmm I have very strange cats then cause my 2 little terrors love citrus..lol I caught my youngest daughter with a bottle of lemon juice one day just drinking it. Then she dropped it when she saw me and they licked it up, no funky faces nothing.

Well with cats like that your tree is doomed. Put your most cherished decorations on top and get some cheap ones from Walmart on the very bottom. There is sprays on the market that give a bitter taste if they should bite at your tree or branches but it sounds like your two little ones would probably like it. My cats used to attack my plants until I grew them some cat grass and catnip which distracted them well and they left my plants alone. You could try a spray bottle of water and give them a little spray when you catch them at the tree. My first cat was so bad he was always drenched with water and then one morning I was in the shower and he jumped in to, and then whined until I blew dry his fur. Cats are like kids, good luck, Donna

What’s going on here? I think our cats might have something against the Vikings AND Packers. The only ornament that has been broken thus far is a Packer one at my house, lol. A spray bottle of water has been the ONLY thing working for us. I only had to spray it once, after all other attempts failed. Now, he takes off as soon as he sees it. I put it in front of the tree and he hasn’t touched it since!!!

I heard that cats don’t like the smell of citrus. Place some oranges, lemons etc (cut in half) at the base of your tree. The cats will stay away, and better yet, no one can get hurt!
