Mind you, I have nothing against Indie, MEtal, Prog or Classic Rock. Or 90% of the fans of all the above. Just the pin-headed buttmunches who feel that their idea of music is the only ideal, and that people that don’t agree with them are losers.
Idiots who spend their time debating what is "True" or "False" music, be it Metal, Prog, Indie or what the heck ever. Get a life.
Modern Day revisionist MEgadeth fans. The pukes who weren’t there in the 80s, but try to convince the world that everything good from Metallica was him. He helped write a grand total of 8 songs.. and KIMB and the Mechanix is largely crap. Though Peace Sells and after was real good.
Slayer fans. Face it.. they have not put out a particularly noteworthy album since 1990. Since then they did Divine Intervention (mediocre) a punk album and 4 knockoffs of Divine Intervention. And Tom’s voice sounds horrible. They has 3 amazing albums, face reality.
Most Metal and Death Core fans. Most of your music is not "BRUTAL".. it’s just generic, uninspired and poorly played.
Dylan and Springsteen hipsters. They suck. Just cuz Rolling stone says they are good don’t mean anything. Ditto for Freaking Radiohead. LEarn to think for yourselves and develop a decent ear for music. Bloody lemmings.
Elvis fans. Dude was the original American Idol.
I could go on but you get the point I think.
@Jungle cat.. decent song writer.. horrid singer, mediocre musician. His greatest triumph (IMO) was writing Along the Watchtower so Jimi could come along and make it awesome.

a lot of people don’t acknowledge old blues guitarists who can make a guitar let out emotion and only consider people like jimmy page or eddie van halen for when they are talking about who they think are the best guitarists. Personally i think that eddie hazel deserves a lot more recognition but thats my rant.

Anyways, my peeves are when people are too closed-minded to try new artists/genres and say other genres suck.
Ignorant and/or close-minded people; and that applies to all music fans. If you’re the type that says all music except the type you listen to (be that Top 20 Pop, hardcore punk, whatever), you’re going to piss me off.

*Seriously, what the hell is wrong with core? It’s better than Nu-metal and the guys are much more talented and don’t play in stupid dropped tunings so low that it’s basically a percussion instrument.

Pig squeals… the ability to pig squeal is like the ability to crap glass; it’s a horrible talent, it hurts, and if you can do it no one should know or hear about it (except maybe a doctor)
The belief that one person or band is completely responsible for a genre (arguments like Venom invented thrash,, Beatles invented punk with Helter Skelter, Pantera influencing metalcore… etc…. The influence could definitely be there, but stating that one is single-handedly responsible is ludicrous exaggeration on most accounts)
I’d say breakdowns, but some old school Sepultura/Slayer breakdowns were pretty win… Lets just say -core breakdowns
People who collect bands of many different genres as if they were baseball cards for the sole purpose of making it seem like there’s some merit to their otherwise horrible taste in music *glances at someone*

Only one pet peeve for me when it comes to music. The word "overrated."
I think my biggest one is people following the media’s opinion instead of forming their own opinion, especially when it comes to the personal lives of musicians. I have seen so many musicians referred to as "douches" on here, that annoys me too, since most of the people saying that have probably never met, much less know well the people they are saying it about.
People that reject modern music without opening their mind to the possibility that it might be good.
When people act like a guy who can play pointlessly fast arpeggios is a good guitarist.
People who let critics and ratings and teh intrarnet make their musical opinion for them.
Musicians who think they know how to make music but really don’t.

No one I ever talk to about music is ever willing to listen to anything new. I know someone that only listens to The Beatles and Lady Gaga, and when I ask this person if they want to try something new, the person just nods their head like I asked the person if they wanted to join me in jumping off a cliff.
Me: "Hey, listen to this AWESOME Switchfoot song!"
Acquaintance: "No, I really can’t."
Me: "What, is something wrong with Switchfoot?"
Acquaintance: "Eh……."
If music is to appeal to people, it must be enjoyed. Transversely, if music doesn’t appeal to someone, than it can be annoying. I don’t know how someone can say that because I don’t want to hear their music that somehow that makes me wrong. I dislike rap, it bugs the heck out of me, If you play it and I can hear it than you are wrong. My dream is to have a large magical ray gun that I can zap at a sound system and functionally destroy it. I would look forward to driving down the road and taking out all the boom sound systems that irritate so many people around them.
People that claim the Beatles were unimaginative – You don’t have to like them but they were one of the most imaginative bands ever.
Metal Heads that think metal is the only kind of music worth listening to. Don’t get me wrong I love Metal but I also love a lot of other genres and sub-genres.
Peope who put ALL Pop music down – Some Pop is very good and of course some of it is very bad. It’s like any other style – you have to find what you like.
I hate in when people bash an artist such as Rihanna or Lady Gaga and Beyonce because of their Singles and their Mainstream appearance. They should listen to the WHOLE album.
and i also hate it when people make fun of me for liking Mariah Carey or Lady Gaga and this and that. I listen to people from Lil Wayne to The Roots or Rihanna to Melanie Fiona. I’ll listen to whoever the hell I want, and nobody in the world can tell me not to =)
-Bands/artists that make one good song but the rest are garbage
-When I purchase a CD because I hear an awesome song by a band/artist similar to the above
-People that say I have a poor taste in music when in reality I can appreciate different music for what it is
-Rap artists that only write about bitches and hos. Gotta love the true Rap artists
Speaking of all those metal sub-genres…
-Sub-genres. Who cares how many different kinds of metal there are? Just call it metal dammit.
-People who define themselves by the music they listen to
And one last thing
-Bands that sound GREAT in recordings, but can’t play live worth a crap. Live music is beyond anything you’ll hear on the radio, except for bands that fall in this category. Still love their music though.
